    About This Trip

This Sicily round trip starts with a ferry to Palermo and dives straight into the island’s wild, flavorful heart—without the long drive via Messina. From Palermo’s lively markets and coastal roads, the route winds through ancient ruins, volcanic landscapes, and quiet inland villages. You park the camper near turquoise beaches, sleep beneath citrus trees, and watch Mount Etna glow at sunset. Days move between swimming, wandering baroque towns, and long lunches filled with pasta alla Norma, cannoli, and fresh seafood. Sicily by camper is intense, chaotic, beautiful—and deeply rewarding for those who travel slow.

    Good to Know

    Skip peak summer completely

July and August are extremely hot and crowded. Late spring and autumn are perfect for camping, sightseeing, and swimming.

    Don’t rush the island

Distances look short, but roads are slow and winding. Fewer stops = better experience.
